Easter Time Around Town

Here are some pictures from Easter time that did not get posted since some were sick and such. Looking for eggs and painting eggs is always fun.

So as we headed into the hotel where this restaurant was we were greeted with the following on the door. We thought it was cute. I think they tell the story of 'Glass' here like we tell the story of 'Falling Rock.'

Olympics Bring Countries to Together

Needless to say we know the Olympics bring countries and people together. It is supposed to do that. However, let me just try to explain using this one picture from last night. In this picture there are folks that have never done any Olympics, but have worked for BOCOG since just before winning the bid.

We have a Greek in there, no he was not there for the First Olympics, but he has now done two Olympics and counting.

We have three Americans, who between them, have done 15 Olympics, with myself having done 7 of those.

We have a man that left Crotia, after the Games in Saravejo and has done 6 Olympics. We have a two German men, one from the former East and one from the West as well as an Italian, three folks from Spain. Rough count of the total # of Olympics done by these folks is 40.

It was a fun dinner with lots of fancy dishes....some of them we did not ask what it was, whilst others we knew were Duck and some tuna and more. Wonderful fresh fruit to end the night.

The reason for the dinner was to thank all for the good work done so far to get to this point to test the CIS system. Anyway...everyone wanted a pic with me in it...so here it is. I am the handsome bald one on the right.

Pics From Beijing - Great Wall; Mings Tomb & Tienaman Square

Don't know why I was finally able to get out to this login or see the blog, but here are some pics from yesterday at the Great Wall, Mings Tomb and Tienaman Square. I will write a longer dialogue later.

These are from Mutianyu spot at the Wall. I walked to the left to the higest spot there but the wall also goes to the right. You get up to the base of the wall by riding a 'cable car' type of gandola. You can take a ski chair lift type of ride up there and then take an 'Alpine Slide' type of ride down but I choose the safe way.

At Tienanman Square the folks were waiting for the National Flag to be taken down. The picture of the road {last picture} is inbetween their 'White House' and Tienanman Square itself. Think about what happened there in June of 1989. It was a moving time to be there and think about the uprising that happened at that site.

The coins on the red background were coins that were found under some of the folks buried in the Ming Dynasty's Tombs. They are of different weight and size.

Also...some of those solider type things were found with the bodies {if my memory serves me right}.

All in all it was really interesting to look at some of the spots of major historical significane.

Swinging In the New Swings - Erik Is Having A Blast

Cina got for Erik today a swing and a bouncer for inside the home. We had bought one when we first arrived here and it was not long enough. Now this one allows him to touch the floor and bounce. We then took him outside since it was over 80 degrees today and swang in the new swing hooked up to our play ground.

Real Food - Um Um Good

Erik has been eating real food now for about 5 weeks and is enjoying it a lot. Today he looks more like 'Cookie Monster' according to Cina than anyone else...he and his JoJo posed for some photos after a good meal of peas and pears or carrots and bananas or maybe squash. Regardless of what...he enjoyed it and sis enjoyed being there with the monster.

The ones of Erik's face just make Auntie Mouse want to reach out and squeeze them or kiss them!!!!!!!!!!




JoJo is acting out Dr. Jekell and Mr. Hyde or maybe she has split personalities....or maybe it is just a family trait. You guys be the judge

Emma's Palace Revisted

Emma's Room is now complete with the bedding and more. However, we still don't have a desk and such for her. More to come later.

Also included is a picture of our Emma and her hat...that matches her bed cover.
