Citizenship

Today a very cool thing happened to the most important person in our family. Cina became a citizen today in the presence of Grandpa Bill and Auntie Mouse. There were almost 200 others with her from 57 countries. It was cool according to all who were there. I was told on Monday that I was traveling this week and although we thought we could hold off on Cina swearing at the US Government...I mean being sworn in as a citizen we decided that with her trip with baby Erik to Sweden in November we could not wait. She needs a US passport since they take her Green Card as soon as she swears herself in. Uncle Paul and Aunt Gretchen were also there to help swear in our wonderful mom, daughter, wife and friend.

Well Done Cina. Well Done Mom. Well Done my best friend.

Pictures to follow.

It was a remarkable morning. Paul & Gretchen Clark came down, too, and joined the well wishers. Gretchen helped Beth with Eric and all went well. Tears were shed by many, as we listened to a number of the applicants take the microphone and thank those who had helped them, thank God for His mercies, and asked Him to bless this country. Several spoke of their deliverance from terrorists countries and begged us to help their friends left behind. This is a land blessed by God and we need to remember that gift and work as servants to help. The whole thing was awe inspiring. The candidates for citizenship had so many friends and family with them that there were not seats for all. We're proud of Cina and all of those who supported and helped over the years. God Bless America. And of course we all proudly stood for the presentation of the colors and joined in singing the Star Spangled Banner.

I am sorry that I had to miss it. Welcome the newest American in our family, even newer than baby Eric. We do love you.

To Our Dear Cina,
What a "Red, White and Blue" letter day. I am remembering when you and John got married and how there were for decorations on the reception tables both Swedish and American flags, little bitty ones, tucked in among lovely fresh flowers. How wonderful that you and your family have such a heritage, and that you make the most of it all the way around.
We love you dearly and deeply,
HG

Be afraid, Cina, you're one of us now. Just kidding. Congrats, that's awesome.
